New Footage 'Of British IS Schoolgirls'

Written By Unknown on Sabtu, 14 Maret 2015 | 00.48

Footage has emerged apparently showing three British schoolgirls in Turkey, before they fled to Syria to join IS militants.

Shamima Begum, Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana all seem to appear in the footage and are talking to an Arab interpreter about a Syrian passport.

It is believed the footage was filmed by an individual arrested by Turkish officials yesterday and accused of being a "spy" from Canada.

The film was confiscated from the man after the girls were helped across the border into Syria to join militants, sources in Turkey said.

Sky's Ashish Joshi said it was unclear where or when the film was taken, though it is believed to be somewhere in Turkey.

"By releasing this footage, by holding it up, Turkey is saying to the rest of the world 'we are doing everything we can to stop people travelling through our country to join IS'," said Joshi.

Yesterday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu described the person who helped the girls cross into Syria as a "foreign spy".

He said that the individual was working for one of the states in the US-led coalition.

Mr Cavusoglu said the agent was not American, or from an EU state, but did not elaborate.

Other reports said the suspect was working for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).

However, Canadian government sources said they would not comment on "operational matters of national security".

The three schoolgirls flew from Gatwick to Istanbul on 17 February and are feared to have continued to Syria to become so-called "jihadi brides".

The girls, who all attended Bethnal Green Academy in East London, are believed to be staying in a house in the IS militants' stronghold Raqqa.

The teenagers are thought to have stolen family jewellery to fund their trip, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley told MPs.

They paid more than £1,000 in cash to a travel agent for their flights to Turkey, the Home Affairs Select Committee heard.

It also emerged the trio were among seven schoolgirls who were handed letters by the police about another 15-year-old from Bethnal Green Academy who ran away to Syria in December.

Relatives of the girls have demanded an apology from the Met for failing to send the crucial letter directly to their parents.

Docs Perform First Successful Penis Transplant

Doctors have performed the world's first successful penis transplant.

The nine-hour operation by surgeons in Cape Town offers hope to high numbers of South African men who lose their penises due to complications with traditional circumcision.

Experts thought the unnamed 21-year-old patient - who had to have his penis amputated three years ago after circumcision - would take two years to regain all function.

However, it has taken just four months for this to occur - resulting in December's operation being declared a success.

The surgery was five years in the planning at Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital.

It was led by Professor Andre van der Merwe, who said: "We are very surprised by his rapid recovery.

"It's a massive breakthrough. We've proved that it can be done - we can give someone an organ that is just as good as the one that he had.

"There is a greater need in South Africa for this type of procedure than elsewhere in the world, as many young men lose their penises every year due to complications from traditional circumcision."

The surgery has been attempted once before - but this is the first example of a successful long-term result.

Experts estimate as many as 250 penis amputations take place every year across South Africa.

"This is a very serious situation," said Prof van der Merwe. "For a young man of 18 or 19 years, the loss of his penis can be deeply traumatic.

"He doesn't necessarily have the psychological capability to process this. There are even reports of suicide among these young men.

"The heroes in all of this for me are the donor, and his family. They saved the lives of many people because they donated the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, skin, corneas, and then the penis."

The transplant followed the path laid by the first facial transplant.

"We used the same type of microscopic surgery to connect small blood vessels and nerves, and the psychological evaluation of patients was also similar," said Prof van der Merwe.

The procedure could eventually be extended to men who have lost their penises from penile cancer or as a last-resort treatment for severe erectile dysfunction.

Pub Landlord Too Heavy For Parachute Stunt

Comedian Al Murray was forced to cancel a skydive intended to generate publicity for his campaign for Parliament - because he is too heavy.

The star is standing against UKIP leader Nigel Farage in the seat of South Thanet in his guise as the Pub Landlord.

Murray had hoped to jump out of a plane from 12,000ft (3,658m) after saying he was "shocked" at claims he had been parachuted in to fight the seat, which is held by the Conservatives.

But as journalists and cameramen gathered to watch the stunt at Headcorn Aerodrome near Ashford, he learned that he was heavier than the 14st 7lb (92kg) weight limit.

Murray blamed the metric scales used to weigh him, and insisted the aborted jump had proved he was a "political heavyweight".

He said: "Unfortunately today's stunt - and that was exactly what it was, a stunt to garner publicity it might generate - has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

"It seems that I am too heavy to jump. It's a double whammy.

"Not only am I another tragic victim of this country's obesity epidemic, but also I have been held back by health and safety gone mad."

Murray said he was unsure how much he weighed.

When asked whether Friday the 13th was the best day to perform such a stunt, he said: "I'm a true British man - I neither cry nor weigh myself on scales.

"Those are my values."

Murray is standing for his newly-formed Free United Kingdom Party, and launched an action plan in January under the guise of his patriotic character.

Later on Friday he visited the New Inn pub in the town of Sandwich, and said the aborted stunt was due to "Brussels-based discrimination against people of my weight".

Murray took along the 10 signatories who are backing his bid for Parliament.

He said: "Why a pub for this meeting? Because the pub is the cradle of democracy in a country that is the very mother of Parliaments."

One audience member subjected him to some tough questioning, demanding to know why Murray was making a mockery of the constituency.

The comedian insisted he wanted to get people to vote, adding: "I want to put Thanet on the map - as the most important constituency in the country".

When asked about the TV debates, Murray said he would like to take part, telling reporters: "I can stand and take this stuff, can't I?"

Mr Farage has expressed his doubts about the legitimacy of Murray's campaign.

He said: "He's not even standing as himself, he's standing as his alter ego.

"It is a bit of a laugh and I have no doubt that in terms of promotion for his tour around the UK he will make a lot of money off the back of it.

"I don't really think the joke is going to last that long."

Inside Osama Bin Laden's Tora Bora Hideaway

By Sky News US Team

Rare images of Osama bin Laden's hideout in the Afghan mountains offer a glimpse of the terror mastermind's life before he was forced to flee.

Bin Laden is seen smiling, hiking in the mountains or posing with a rifle in the photos taken in Tora Bora.

In two pictures, the late al Qaeda leader is sitting against a backdrop of Islamic books.

US forces raided Tora Bora after the 9/11 attacks as they searched for bin Laden, hearing his voice on radio several times, but they did not capture him.

At the time it was thought bin Laden was hiding in a cave system in the mountain, filled with weapons and ammunition.

Family: Clarkson Said He'd Have Colleague Fired

By Gerard Tubb, North of England Correspondent

Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson is facing new allegations over the "fracas" at a Yorkshire Dales hotel that led to his suspension by the BBC on Monday.

Four members of the same family who overheard the row say Clarkson told a colleague he would have him fired because there was no hot food at the end of a day's filming.

The Ward family from Leeds told Sky News that Clarkson ranted for up to half-an-hour at the Simonstone Hotel near Hawes and say they were shocked at his language and the way he treated his colleague.

They also claimed he criticised the BBC, saying it was "getting worse".

Sue Ward, 54, a medical receptionist, described Clarkson's behaviour towards the unnamed employee as shocking.

"He said he hadn't done his job properly, it was ridiculous that there was nothing to eat, obviously there was lots of expletives in between all this, and that he would be losing his job, he would see to it that he would lose his job," she said.

"Even someone who's really inept at their job should be told properly, in a proper manner," she said

"But the fact that it was in a public place, I didn't want to listen to that language."

Sue's brother in law Bob Ward, 60, said Clarkson arrived with his co-presenters by helicopter at around 9.30pm and refused to have his picture taken.

"I said 'Any chance of a selfie Jeremy?' and he said 'No, not with the day I've had today'."

Within minutes, Bob's wife Denise, 51, said Clarkson was shouting and swearing and had spoiled the evening they had been looking forward to.

"We were sort of, 'Ooh, celebrities, will we see them?' and then it was just the shock of how can someone be so rude?" she said.

"It was just the swearing and the length of time and this poor guy that he was ripping into," she added.

Top Gear is the BBC's biggest global brand, worth more than £50m a year, but with Clarkson suspended the next three episodes have been scrapped.

The only Top Gear fan among the Ward family, Sue's husband Alan, 56, agreed with the three quarters of a million people who have signed an online petition for Clarkson to keep his job.

"He's brash, we know what he's like, he's been in trouble before and I think he'll be in trouble again," he said.

"I think he'll continue to do that job because without Clarkson there's no Top Gear."

Sky News has approached Clarkson for a comment but he has not responded.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Clarkson's Twitter profile has changed from saying, "I am a presenter on the BBC2 motoring show, Top Gear" to "I am probably a presenter on the BBC2 motoring show, Top Gear".

One fan responded by tweeting "brilliant", while an opponent wrote "You'll soon be changing the verb tense in your profile then?"

Former TV weather presenter Fred Talbot has been jailed for five years for indecently assaulting two schoolboys.

Talbot  assaulted the pupils, aged 14 and 15, from Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in the 1970s, during his former career as a biology teacher.

Judge Timothy Mort at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court told Talbot: "You deliberately and indecently assaulted the two of them for your own gratification.

"You are a man of 65 with no previous convictions. You have been convicted by a jury from clear evidence of indecently assaulting two boys when you were a teacher."

Referring to Talbot's teaching style, Judge Mort said it was "different" and "less formal" than others which made him a "popular" teacher.

Service Marks End Of Afghanistan Conflict

By Alistair Bunkall, Defence Correspondent

The Queen has led the nation in paying tribute to those who served in Afghanistan over the last 13 years.

Veterans of the campaign as well as next of kin of the 453 service personnel killed in the war attended the special service at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

They were joined by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, who himself served two tours in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister David Cameron, other political figures and members of the military were also at the service.

A ceremony has also been held in Kabul.

During the service in London, the Archbishop of Canterbury thanked those who fought in Afghanistan.

In his address, the Most Rev Justin Welby said: "Today is a moment for us to say thank you: thank you to all who served, whatever your role.

"We thank you for your faithfulness: you who left family behind, you who trained hard, you who did not turn from danger, you who suffered injury and you who risked yourselves to care for the injured.

"I'm told that each wounded person was supported by up to 80 others by the time they got home. Great is your faithfulness.

"We also thank those of you who stayed behind, who let your loved ones go: you who worried for their safety each day and took your phone to your bedside each night, you who lived with the pining of children, as well as your own fears. Great is your faithfulness."

"And we honour the faithfulness of all those who gave up their lives to give peace and security for others."

Prayers were said for those who were killed in the conflict, for families left behind while their loved ones served and for the Afghan people and its leaders.

A Memorial Cross made from used shell cases was processed through St Paul's Cathedral by representatives from the RAF, Royal Navy and Army.

After being blessed by the Archbishop, it was taken to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire as part of a permanent installation.

After the service, a parade of servicemen marched through the streets of London ending at the Guildhall in the City.

It was made up of veterans representing many parts of the military.

There was also a flypast of aircraft that flew in the conflict: a Sea King helicopter, two Chinooks and two Apaches, followed by an RAF C-130 Hercules and two Tornado fast jets.

Various members of the Royal Family then hosted three receptions at the Honourable Artillery Company, Horse Guards Parade, and the Guildhall.

Deaths Reported As Cyclone Pam Hits Vanuatu

A number of people have reportedly died after an extremely powerful cyclone with winds up to 167mph hit the Vanuatu islands.

Category Five storm Cyclone Pam struck the South Pacific archipelago, threatening more than 267,000 residents who live on 65 of its islands.

The "once-in-a-lifetime" storm had moved off its expected track, changing course and putting populated areas directly in its path.

The eye was expected to hit or come close to the central island of Efate, home to the capital Port Vila, where 47,000 people live.

There were unconfirmed reports of deaths in the northeastern islands.

The Vanuatu Meteorological Services warned of "very destructive winds and very rough to phenomenal seas with heavy swells".

Authorities issued red alerts across Vanuatu, with residents warned to take shelter ahead of potential flooding and landslides.

David Gibson, acting director at the Vanuatu Meteorological Services, said: "As far as I can remember, this is the first Category Five cyclone to come very close to Vanuatu.

"This is obviously a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us."

Many Vanuatuans live in accommodation ill-equipped for such a barrage.

Widow Shows Red Card As Referee Killer Jailed

By Sky News US Team

The widow of an adult league soccer referee who died after being punched on the pitch has shown her husband's killer a red card at his sentencing.

Baseel Abdul-Amir Saad was sentenced to at least eight years in prison following a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter.

The 36-year-old auto mechanic "sucker punched" John Bieniewicz as he prepared to show Saad a red card during a match in Livonia, Michigan, last summer, witnesses said.

Mr Bieniewicz, 44, succumbed to his injuries two days later in hospital.

His death put a spotlight on out-of-control recreational athletes, and Mr Bieniewicz's widow, Kris Bieniewicz, made the symbolic red card gesture in court as she continued lobbying state lawmakers to consider new crimes for assaults on sports referees.

She recently testified at Michigan's Capitol in support of proposed legislation that would make it a felony to assault a sports official in the state.

Referees "are out there on an island with no one to defend them", she said.

"Something more than a misdemeanour should be in place."

On Friday, Ms Bieniewicz described Saad's sentence and plea deal as generous.

"It's murder. It will always be murder in my eyes," she told the court.

Saad, who fled the pitch after the attack, surrendered to authorities the following day.

He was initially charged with assault and released on bond, but later charged with second-degree murder after Mr Bieniewicz died.

Saad agreed to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter just days before his case was set to go to trial.

He expressed remorse at the sentencing hearing, telling the judge that he prays for Mr Bieniewicz's family, including his two children.

Under the sentencing guidelines, Saad will be eligible for parole after eight years. His maximum punishment is 15 years in prison.

Paris Metro Abuse: Five Men Due In Court

Five men involved in abusive behaviour on the Paris Metro ahead of a Chelsea match have been served with summonses.

The men will appear at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court on 25 March "regarding a police application for football banning orders", Scotland Yard said.

Controversy erupted last month when Chelsea fans were filmed singing racist chants and refusing to let a black man on a train ahead of a Champions League match against Paris St Germain.

Some were heard to sing: "We're racist, and that's the way we like it."

In light of the incident, Scotland Yard said it would examine the footage to see if they could apply for banning orders.

Chelsea have suspended five supporters from attending matches following the incident after carrying out their own investigation.

Manager Jose Mourinho said he was "disgusted" and "ashamed" by the behaviour, adding the club would be writing to the victim, Souleymane Sylla.

He told Sky Sports he hoped he would accept an invitation to attend the return game against Paris St German.

However, Mr Sylla told French newspaper Le Parisien: "I appreciate Mr Mourinho's invitation, but I can't get my head around being in a stadium at the moment".

In an interview with the Guardian, he said: "What happened has left me really afraid. I just want justice to be done, no more than that.

"I was a little bit hurt physically but in terms of morale I was hurt a lot. It has really affected my life. I can't go back into the Metro, it makes me really afraid.

"I don't think you should be denied the right to take the Metro because you're black. That's what they wanted."

News of the summonses comes as the two teams prepare to meet in the return leg of the tie at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium in west London on Wednesday night.

The game is finely poised after the first leg ended in 1-1 draw. The winner will go through to the quarter-finals.

Football banning orders are issued by courts following a conviction for a football-related offence after a complaint by the Crown Prosecution Service or police.

They can last for between three and 10 years. Breaches of the orders can result in a sentence of up to six months in prison.

Hillsborough Chief Admits 'Terrible' Lie

By Nick Martin, Sky News Correspondent

The police officer in charge during the Hillsborough disaster has admitted a "terrible" lie in the aftermath of the match by not telling people he had authorised the opening of a side gate.

Former chief superintendent David Duckenfield, speaking at the inquest into the deaths, said he was "deeply ashamed and embarrassed".

It was a decision that led to a crush in pens three and four of the Leppings Lane stand and resulted in the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans.

Mr Duckenfield turned to the families of the victims from the witness box and said: "I deeply regret what happened on the day, it was a major mistake on my part.

"I have no excuses. I apologise unreservedly to the families and I hope they believe it is a very very sincere apology."

He added: "No one can understand my behaviour on that day, least of all me."

Mr Duckenfield, the match commander, was giving evidence for a second day in the new inquests into Britain's worst sporting tragedy.

He described his decision that day as "grave mistake" and said he had "no option" but to open the gates.

Under cross-examination from Christina Lambert QC, counsel to the inquest, the retired officer said he had not realised where the fans would go once the gates were opened.

He told the inquest: "It is arguably one of the biggest regrets of my life that I did not foresee where fans would go when they came in through the gates.

"I was overcome by the enormity of the situation and the decisions I had to make and as a result of that - this is probably very hard to admit - as a result of that I was so overcome probably with emotion of us having got into that situation that my mind, for a moment, went blank."

Mr Duckenfield said he had had a conversation with second-in-command Superintendent Bernard Murray.

"He said if you don't open the gates someone is going to get killed and that really was a shocking, almost terrifying moment, to feel we'd got to that situation.

"I said, 'Mr Murray, if people are going to die, I have no option but to open the gates'."

Earlier in the hearing, the former policeman said he had held a briefing on the morning of the tragedy but had "no recollection" of what he did until 2pm, an hour before the start of the game.

Mr Duckenfield declared it "remarkable" that he could not remember that period.

The 70-year old said he could not remember patrolling the stadium before the game but was "sure" he had looked at plans showing the layout, the inquest heard.

Mr Duckenfield also admitted having only a "basic knowledge" of the stadium.

Asked by Ms Lambert QC whether he "missed a golden opportunity" to patrol the ground prior to the match to learn about exits and stands, he replied: "I can't disagree with your suggestion, but I am afraid I can't answer your question."

The inquest heard how Mr Duckenfield held a briefing the day before the match, in which he wrote in a report and delivered, he said, word-for-word: "I cannot stress too highly the word 'safety'.

"The ground will be full to capacity today and some of you may never have experienced a football match of this nature.

"Our job is to ensure the safety of spectators."

The jury was told that a police intelligence report said the behaviour of Liverpool fans in 1989 had been "quite good" but noted some incidents at away matches where Stanley knives and weapons had been discarded "a short distance from the turnstiles".

There were reports, the inquest was told, of "pickpockets and travelling thieves" attending matches.

He told the jury: "I had no personal evidence or major doubts that this match wouldn't pass off in a normal manner."

Gazza Claims Hacking Linked To Alcoholism

Former footballer Paul Gascoigne has told the High Court having his phones hacked contributed towards his alcoholism.

The 47-year-old started his evidence at the hearing in London to determine what compensation should be paid by Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) in eight representative cases by telling Mr Justice Mann that he was "fuming".

Gascoigne said he repeatedly changed his mobile because he knew there was something going on with it.

His voice hoarse, and shaking with emotion, he said: "I knew I was getting hacked by the Mirror. This continued for ages. Phone calls to my father and family were getting blocked so I changed my mobile. It happened again so I kept on changing mobiles, five or six times a month."

Questioned by barrister David Sherborne, who represents victims of hacking and who has said the practice was rife at all three of the group's national titles by mid-1999, Gascoigne said that, to start with, the experience was "so scary".

The former England midfielder, who is complaining about 18 articles - all accepted to have been the product of illegal activity - said: "I couldn't speak to anybody, I was scared to speak to anybody ... my parents, my family and kids, it was just horrendous.

"And people can't understand why I became an alcoholic."

After speaking briefly, Gascoigne was told he would not face cross-examination by Matthew Nicklin QC, for MGN, and his evidence was going unchallenged.

He replied: "I have waited 15 years to be sat here so I am disgusted, really.

"I would like to trade my mobile phone in for a coffin because these guys have ruined my life. I have no life."

In a written statement to the court, Gascoigne said he had benefited from fame but he had also suffered heartache as he faced the end of his playing career.

The constant media pressure had made it hard for him to lead a normal life and his family were no longer as close as they had been, he said.

He also discussed his alcoholism, his treatment for drug abuse and his addiction to Red Bull.

"I have suffered from mental illness, including paranoia, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. I am bipolar and I have an addictive personality."

He said he had accused people, including stepdaughter Bianca, of giving stories about him to newspapers.

"I became obsessed about being monitored. I felt that I was being watched or listened into all the time for years and the pressure on me because of that was more than I think any sane person could bear."

While at Everton in 2000, he checked in to the Priory Clinic to get urgent help.

"The main reason why I had to go to get help at the Priory on this occasion was the constant pressure from the media, including articles and threats of articles being published by journalists.

"I was also convinced that my phone was being tapped to get stories about me that very few people knew about. I felt very paranoid at that time about being pursued by the media.

"I felt that I could not cope with the media attention any more and I seriously thought about jumping in front of a train."

Former EastEnders actress Lucy Taggart - previously Lucy Benjamin - told the court that hacking had left her feeling like she was "in a boxing ring without any gloves".

She said: "With each one I always felt like I had to pick myself up and dust myself off and carry on.

"But on the following day or following week there would be another article about something else and it felt like I was being punched and battered and bruised."

She said she still questioned what she had done to deserve "the amount of hacking that took place and the articles that were printed".

Iraqi Forces Battle IS In Saddam Home Town

Iraqi forces have entered Saddam Hussein's home town of Tikrit as part of an offensive against Islamic State militants.

A major general told the AFP news agency: "We were able to control Tikrit military hospital, which is close to the centre of the city.

"But we are engaging in a very delicate battle because we are not facing fighters on the ground, we are facing booby-trapped terrain and sniper fire. Our movement is slow."

Tikrit is one of the largest cities held by the jihadi group after it invaded Iraq from Syria last year.

The city lies on the strategically important road between Baghdad and Mosul, Iraq's second largest city and also under IS control.

Ex-Traveller Set For Divorce Win 20 Years On

A former traveller looks set to get a divorce payout from her ex-husband, who became a millionaire 10 years after they split.

Kathleen Wyatt, who is seeking £1.9m from Dale Vince, did not lodge a claim until nearly 20 years after their divorce.

Mr Vince has described letting her make a claim now as "mad", saying: "This could signal open season for people who had brief relationships a quarter of a century ago."

Supreme Court justices were told that the couple met when students, married in 1981 when in their early 20s, and lived a New Age traveller lifestyle.

They separated in the mid-1980s and divorced in 1992.

In the mid-1990s Mr Vince began a business career and went on to become a green energy tycoon after launching a company called Ecotricity, now said to be worth more than £57m.

Ms Wyatt, 55, lodged a claim for "financial remedy" in 2011.

Deputy High Court judge Nicholas Francis gave it the green light in 2012 but three appeal judges overturned the decision in 2013.

Now, the Supreme Court justices have ruled it should go ahead, with a judge in the Family Division of the High Court assessing the claim.

One justice, Lord Wilson, said Ms Wyatt's claim was "legally recognisable" and not an "abuse of process".

He noted she had four grown-up children, one of them a son by Mr Vince who had provided "minimal support" for him.

Lord Wilson said £1.9m was "out of the question", but there was a "real prospect" Ms Wyatt would get a "comparatively modest award".

In a statement, Mr Vince said: "I'm disappointed that the Supreme Court has decided not to bring this case to an end now, over 30 years since the relationship ended.

"We both moved on and started families of our own... it's been so long that there are no records, no court has kept anything, and it's hard to defend yourself in such circumstances - indeed the delay itself has enabled the claim, because there is no paperwork in existence.

"I feel that we all have a right to move on, and not be looking over our shoulders. This could signal open season for people who had brief relationships a quarter of a century ago... it's mad in my opinion."

Ms Wyatt said after the hearing: "It's an important judgment."

Pistorius Filmed Playing Football In Prison

A video has emerged of Oscar Pistorius playing football in prison with a notorious Czech criminal.

The footage shows the disgraced sprinter enjoying a penalty shoot-out session with Radovan Krejcir in an empty exercise yard at Kgosi Mampuru Prison in Pretoria.

Pistorius, who was jailed for five years for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, is seen wearing shorts as he takes turns to play striker and goalkeeper.

South Africa's two most famous prisoners reportedly struck up a friendship after being transferred to the same wing.

The footage was shot from above on a mobile phone by another inmate and published in South Africa's Daily Sun newspaper.

At one point, the Paralympic gold medallist, 28, is seen moving a concrete-weighted pole out of the way so Krejcir has more room to shoot.

A spokesman for the department of correctional services said all inmates are allowed to have an hour of exercise a day.

Krejcir is facing multiple charges including kidnapping, attempted murder and drug dealing.

Clarkson's Rise: 'You Can't Live Without Him'

Jeremy Clarkson is best known for his role as a presenter on the hit BBC show Top Gear - and his outspoken and often politically incorrect views on a range of issues.

His comments have won him both admirers and detractors, although Clarkson maintains he should not be taken too seriously.

Now aged 54, he was born in Doncaster where his parents ran a business selling tea cosies, and then Paddington Bear toys.

Their success enabled Clarkson to go to Repton public school, from which he was apparently expelled for bad behaviour.

He took a job in the family business but in 1984 branched out on his own, forming the Motoring Press Agency, with journalist Jonathan Gill.

This led to him writing pieces for Performance Car and his acerbic wit later gained him contracts from The Sun and The Sunday Times.

In October 1988, Clarkson was invited to be one of the presenters on Top Gear. It was taken off air between 2000 and 2002, but since its return has become one of the most watched TV shows on BBC Two.

The show owes much to Clarkson's co-presenters James May and Richard Hammond, but his strong presence and uncompromising views have undoubtedly made him the driving force, as well as an icon for 'petrol heads'.

His disparaging comments - about Norfolk, workers at Hyundai, global warming, speeding, cyclists and Wales among others - have often landed him in hot water and led to calls for him to be sacked.

So far they have been resisted by the BBC, but there are fears the corporation may have no choice but to let him go after the latest episode in which he is alleged to have thrown a punch at one of Top Gear's producers.

The show is one of the BBC's biggest money spinners, pulling in millions of pounds from a devoted - and international - audience.

Its success - and Clarkson's vital part in it - saw BBC TV boss Danny Cohen compare him to a top-flight footballer, telling reporters last year that "no one is bigger than the club".

In an interview with Sky News, former ITV boss Michael Grade described him as the "Kevin Pietersen of broadcasting", adding: "You can't live with him or without him," he said.

Last year, Top Gear was censured by regulator Ofcom for breaching broadcasting rules after Clarkson used a "racial" term during the programme's Burma special, which had aired in March 2014.

The year ended with the show's crew having to flee Argentina after trouble erupted when it emerged they were using a Porsche with the registration number H982 FKL, which many saw as a reference to the Falklands conflict of 1982.

Top Gear's executive producer Andy Wilman described 2014 as "an annus horribilis" for the show after the claims of racism and the near-riot in Argentina.

It is difficult to find exact figures, but it is safe to say the show has made Clarkson and Wilman multi-millionaires.

The 2012 annual report and accounts of BBC Worldwide - the corporation's commercial arm - show it got a dividend of £4.5m in 2012 from a company called Bedder 6.

The company, which is registered at the west London base of BBC Worldwide was set up by Clarkson and Wilman.

The BBC then owned 50%, with Clarkson reportedly owning around 30% - meaning his dividend would have been around £2.7m in that year, on top of his BBC salary. He has since sold his stake to the corporation.

Man Shot By IS Child Was No Spy, Say Family

By Tom Rayner, Middle East Reporter

The family of a man apparently shot dead by a child in an Islamic State (IS) video believe he was killed because he wanted to leave the group.

Mohammed Musallam, 19, an Israeli Arab, was accused of being an Israeli spy by IS fighters.

He appeared in the 13-minute footage talking about being recruited and trained by the Mossad intelligence agency and is then shown being escorted to a field and shot in the head by a young boy.

However, his family say they believe he was recruited by underground IS operatives in Jerusalem.

His mother Hind told Sky News: "There are Islamic State figures here in Jerusalem, people should be careful with their kids, they are hidden, they are taking the boys."

She said her son had called home days before he was imprisoned, claiming he wanted to leave IS.

"He said they had promised to give him a house, marriage, and dollars. I said why would you do that to yourself?," she said.

"He said that he had been brainwashed, but that it was all lies - that they were cheating everyone."

UK Military Health Worker Contracts Ebola

A member of British military personnel has tested positive for Ebola in Sierra Leone.

The unidentified woman - who was working at the Kerry Town facility southwest of the capital Freetown - is being assessed while plans are made to fly her back to the UK.

"Medical experts are currently assessing the situation to ensure that appropriate care is delivered. A clinical decision on whether the individual will be medically evacuated to the UK for treatment will be taken in due course," a Public Health England spokesperson said.

"An investigation into how the military worker was exposed to the virus is currently under way and tracing of individuals in recent contact with the diagnosed worker is being undertaken.

"Any individuals identified as having had close contact will be assessed and a clinical decision made regarding bringing them to the UK.

"The UK has robust, well-developed and well-tested systems for managing Ebola and the overall risk to the public in the UK continues to be very low."

The Kerry Town Ebola Crisis Centre was built by the British army with Government funding. It opened in November last year.

The 80-bed hospital is managed by Save the Children. It has several beds reserved for health workers who fall ill with the potentially deadly virus.

British nurses Pauline Cafferkey and Will Pooley both survived the disease after being treated in the UK. They contracted the highly-contagious disease while treating sufferers in Sierra Leone.

The outbreak has killed more than 9,500 people in West Africa.
